SB 1227 (2026)SB 1227 — Comprehensive K-12 AI Framework
One of the most holistic K-12 AI laws in the country. Covers: vendor procurement and vetting, academic integrity and AI-generated content policies, AI literacy requirements, educator professional development mandates, and transparency requirements for AI tools. Districts must adopt policies aligned to all of these areas. Explicitly addresses cheating detection, acceptable use, and training in a single statute.
