NE LB 504 (2023)Age-Appropriate Design Code
Requires online services directed at minors or likely accessed by minors to implement default privacy settings (most private by default), minimize data collection, disable sharing and profiling features for minor accounts, and conduct age estimation. Applies when a service has actual knowledge of minor users or cannot reasonably conclude fewer than 2% of users are minors.
— Nebraska's age-appropriate design code mirrors California's AADC approach — any platform accessible to K-12 students in NE must default to the most privacy-protective settings available.
