LD 1822 (132nd Legislature)
Comprehensive consumer privacy bill requiring data minimization, consumer rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of data sales, data protection assessments for high-risk processing, and written vendor agreements; would have applied to entities processing data of 35,000+ Maine residents with strong sensitive-data restrictions. DIED between houses April 13, 2026 — did not pass. Had it been enacted, EdTech vendors operating in Maine would have needed to review DPAs and data governance practices.
