MS Future Innovators Act (official short title). Approved by the Governor; now law, effective July 1, 2026. Beginning with ninth-graders entering in the 2029-30 school year, Mississippi public high schools must require one credit in computer science or CTE coursework that includes instruction on AI fundamentals - what AI is, how it works, and its societal impact. Courses require State Board of Education approval. Districts must plan for AI-literate curriculum and select EdTech tools aligned to these standards.
