Prohibits collection, purchase, sale, or disclosure of biometric identifiers without prior informed consent. Covers facial recognition, fingerprints, iris/retina scans, voiceprints, and palm prints. Requires data retention schedules and secure storage. Enforced by the Attorney General — no private right of action.

Creates a state AI task force to develop AI governance frameworks. Signed Mar 18, 2024 (Ch. 163, 2024 Laws). Note: the task force roster includes no dedicated K-12/education-sector seats (nearest is the UW computer science school director); education is a subcommittee topic, not a membership seat. Recommendations may still shape subsequent K-12 legislation.
